In the result of urgent measures taken together with the police officers within the criminal proceeding investigated in the Second Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee 28 year-old citizen's murder committed the day before was disclosed.

On August 20, 2023 at 17:04 a call was received from the rescue service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informing that there was fire in one of the apartments on Yeznik Koghbatsi Street, Yerevan.

Based on the call the employees of the Central Police Division and rescue service immediately left for the scene where they found the body of 28 year-old resident of the same apartment with cut-pierced injuries on the neck and chest.

With regard to the case a criminal proceeding was initiated according to the Part 1 of the Article 155 and the Points 2 and 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 264 of RA Criminal Code.

In the course of preliminary investigation necessary investigative and procedural actions, inspection of the scene, confiscations were conducted, samples were taken, forensic medical expertise of the body was commissioned, over a dozen of people were questioned.

In the result of urgent measures the victim as well as the person having committed the alleged crime was identified. Through investigation it was found out that bodily injuries incompatible with life had been caused to 28 year-old citizen by 26 year-old resident of Armavir.

In the result of measures taken by the police officers the latter was found and brought to the investigative body. He was questioned during which he confessed that he had committed the murder after which he fired the apartment and tried to cross the RA state border through Bavra border checkpoint.

By the decision of the investigative body the young man was arrested. Procedural and evidentiary actions with his participation are ongoing.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to find out all circumstances of the case, to find the instrument of the crime.
