It was already informed that through investigation conducted in Abovyan Investigative Division of Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee significant circumstances of murder committed in Jrvezh community on March 1, 2023 were found out.

In the result of investigative and procedural actions it was found out that on March 1 at about 21:20 in front of the store located in Jrvezh community 34 year-old resident of Yerevan together with unidentified persons started arguing with 49 year-old resident of Jrvezh, the latter’s son and some other persons about modification of the plot of the pavilion. They started hitting one another with hands and feet during which 49 year-old resident of Jrvezh fell down and 34 year-old man fired shots towards his head from a firearm procured and kept by him in circumstances not found yet, causing bodily injury incompatible with life. Then 34 year-old man fled with the people who had arrived at the scene with him.

Public criminal prosecution was initiated against 34 year-old resident of Yerevan according to the Part 1 of the Article 155 and the Part 1 of the Article 335 of RA Criminal Code. Considering that his location was not known, the police was assigned to find and bring him to the investigative body and detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

In the result of the joint work done together with the Police the person under criminal prosecution turned himself to the investigative body and charge was pressed against him. The rifle which was the instrument of crime was also found.

A motion was submitted to court on using detention as a pretrial measure against 34 year-old man which was sufficed and the man was taken to penitentiary.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to identify those involved in the incident and find them.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
