On May 1, 2020 at 12:40 a call was received from “Erebuni” medical center informing that 32 year-old resident of Sari Tagh district of Yerevan with firearm injury on the right thigh was taken to them.

A criminal case was initiated according to the Part 1 of the Article 235 (illegal procurement, transportation or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices) and the Part 4 of the Article 258 (hooliganism) of RA Criminal Code which was received in the proceeding of the Investigative Division of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

It was found out that on May 1, 2020 at about 12:00 in Sari Tagh Street of Yerevan the person having committed the alleged crime fired a shot towards 32 year-old man causing bodily injury then escaped.

In the result of investigatory actions and operative-intelligence measures the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a 39 year-old resident of Yerevan.

A number of investigatory actions, including inspection of the scene were conducted during which 1 fired capsule and blood-like traces were found, witnesses were questioned, confiscations were conducted, forensic medical and forensic ballistic examinations were commissioned.

The investigative body made a decision on arrest of the above mentioned person the implementation of which was assigned to the relevant subdivision of the RA Police.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Necessary investigatory actions are conducted, operative-intelligence measures are taken to find out all circumstances, to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
