In the result of necessary investigative and other procedural actions as well as operative-intelligence and operative-searching measures taken together with the employees of the RA Police within the criminal case investigated in Tavush Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on murder attempt committed in February, 2019 against the resident of Teghut village the person involved as a defendant, wanted within the criminal case was found and brought to the investigative body; the latter is a resident of Haghartsin settlement, born in 1984.

Charge was pressed against him according to the Part 1 of the Article 34-104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. A motion was submitted to court to consider the use of detention as a pretrial measure with participation of the defendant.

It was earlier informed that on February 20, 2019 at about 12:20 on the way to the administrative building of “Dilijan National Park” SNCO from Ijevan-Dilijan-Sevan road a number of people fired shots from a rifle of 5,45 mm caliber kept illegally towards the car of «Lexus GX 470» make driven by the resident of Tavush region, born in 1979. However, as the latter escaped, they could not complete the crime under unforeseen circumstances and fled.

During preliminary investigation a number of people were questioned, large-scale investigative actions were conducted, forensic medical, forensic ballistic, forensic material, forensic merchandising and forensic trace complex examinations were commissioned. Through inspection of the scene 33 fired capsules of a bullet of 5.45mm caliber, an empty container and 2 balls were found.

In the result of urgent measures taken during preliminary investigation two of those involved in the accident were identified; one of them is a resident of Dilijan town, born in 1988, he was found and charge was pressed against him according to the Point 7 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code, detention was used as a pretrial measure against him. The charge pressed against the mentioned person changed and charge was pressed against him according to the Part 1 of the Article 38-34-104 of RA Criminal Code, the part on him was separated in a separate proceeding and the criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to court.

The other person involved in the accident, who is a resident of Haghartsin settlement, hid and a decision was made by the investigative body to involve him as a defendant according to the Part 1 of the Article 34-104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code, to declare search and to choose detention as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to find out all circumstances, to provide the objective and comprehensive investigation, to find the rifle which was the instrument of the crime.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
