Preliminary Investigation of Criminal Case Initiated on Using Violence out of Hooliganism against a Group of Citizens Protesting Peacefully in April, 2018 Completed
Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on using violence out of hooliganism against a group of citizens protesting peacefully in Yerevan and RA provinces in April, 2018 was completed in the Division of Investigation of Grave Crimes of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. Charge was pressed against 11 people.
Through comprehensive, complete and objective investigation circumstances and motive of the cases were found out.
Pursuant to factual data obtained during pretrial proceeding, with the purpose of hindering the peaceful protests organized in Yerevan and provinces in April, 2018 a group of people made groups and willfully showing disrespect, out of hooligan motives used violence against the protestors.
On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against 11 persons.
Charge was pressed against Masis Mayor according to the Part 2 of the Article 225 and the Part 4 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code.
Charge was pressed against the Deputy Mayor Karen Ohanyan, the resident of Masis town S. Sahakyan, born in 1982, A. Hakobyan, A. Khanjyan, A. Mamulyan and G. Hambardzumyan according to the Part 2 of the Article 225 of RA Criminal Code.
Charge was pressed against M. Poghosyan and H. Hakobyan according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code.
Charge was pressed against G. Hambardzumyan according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 258 and the Part 4 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code.
Charge was pressed against M. Poghosyan according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code.
Preliminary investigation was completed and the criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to prosecutor supervising the legality of preliminary investigation.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
