Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on illegal procurement and keeping of weapon and ammunition by the resident of Yerevan Artur Ghazaryan was completed in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of RA Investigative Committee.

Through preliminary investigation it was grounded that Artur Ghazaryan born in 1977 illegally procured and carried a 9 mm caliber rifle of “ВИКИНГ” type of factory production and bullets of 9 mm/9X19/ serving as ammunition which were found with him on July 10, 2015 during the personal search conducted in Central Station of RA Police.


It was earlier informed that on July 13 charge was pressed against A. Ghazaryan according to the Part 1 of the Article 235 and detention was used as a pretrial measure against him.

On July 27, 2015 a decision was made to initiate a new criminal case according to the Part 1 of the Article 235 on illegal selling of firearm and ammunition to A. Ghazaryan by an unknown person and to separate it as a separate proceeding.

The criminal case on the part of A. Ghazaryan with the bill of indictment was sent to the Prosecution Office of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts.

Preliminary investigation on the separated part is ongoing. Measures are taken to provide the comprehensive and complete examination of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
