Robbery against Employee of Embassy Disclosed
On 19 June, 2021 a call was received from the employee of the Embassy of Argentina to Armenia informing that on the same day in Hanrapeturyan Street, Yerevan the person having committed the alleged crime obviously stole her bag and fled then some minutes later another person returned her bag. However, it was found out that her diplomatic credentials, cash money and bank account were not in the bag.
A criminal case was initiated in Central Police Division according to the Part 1 of the Article 176 and the Part 1 of the Article 324 of RA Criminal Code which was sent to the Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee for conduction of preliminary investigation and was received for production. The employee of the embassy was found the affected party.
In the result of investigative and other procedural actions, as well as joint measures taken together with the RA Police employees the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is 22 year-old resident of Yerevan.
In the result of operative-intelligence and operative-searching measures the young man was found and arrested on suspicion of committing robbery, theft of documents, he was questioned and gave self-incriminating testimony.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to find out all circumstances, to provide the objective and comprehensive investigation of the case.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
