Active investigatory actions and operative-searching measures are ongoing in the Investigative Division of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find out circumstances of murder and stabbing committed in the crossroad of Glinka and Tigran Mets Streets of Yerevan on June 10, 2019. Search was declared against one person.

It was earlier informed that on June 10, 2019 in the crossroad of Glinka and Tigran Mets Streets of Yerevan a row erupted between the resident of Yerevan, taxi driver Sargis Avagyan and residents of Yerevan, born in 1963 and 1989 during which S. Avagyan sustained bodily injuries incompatible with life. Another person who had intervened in the quarrel sustained bodily injury of medium gravity.

In the result of investigatory actions of great volume and urgent operative – intelligence measures taken together with the relevant subdivision of the Police a number of circumstances of the case were found out, the persons having committed the alleged crime were identified.

Particularly, pursuant to initial data, on the day of the incident the persons having committed the alleged crime got into the taxi as a passenger used by Sargis Avagyan, they argued with him in the car then got out of the car to make clarifications and quarreled on the pavement. The quarrel turned into brawl during which they hit each other.  

During the brawl with the purpose of illegally depriving S. Avagyan from life the man having committed the alleged crime, born in 1989, stabbed him on the chest causing him bodily injury incompatible with life.

Then the same person stabbed a young man, born in 1995, on his abdomen, who had intervened in the quarrel, causing bodily injuries of medium gravity and fled.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence a decision was made to involve the man, born in 1989, as a defendant according to the Point 10 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 and the Point 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 113 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him and search was declared.

The Police were tasked to take measures to find the wanted and bring him to the investigative body.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
