In the result of investigatory actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case investigated in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee a number of significant circumstances of the armed incident that took place in Dilijan in February, 2016 were found.
 

On February 11, 2016 a call was received informing that shots were fired in Tbilisyan highway of Dilijan town in the result of which S. Miqayelyan, born in 1989, with firearm injury was taken to medical center.
 

A criminal case was initiated on murder attempt preliminary investigation of which was conducted in the RA IC General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases. In the result of investigatory actions of great volume conducted in the framework of the criminal case a number of circumstances significant for the criminal case were found, including the persons involved in the incident, their actions were personalized, the motive of the argument was found.
 

Particularly, actual data were obtained on the allegation that some days before the incident – on February 9 two residents of Dilijan D. Hakobyan and S. Miqayelyan argued over domestic matters near the car wash station operating in Dilijan town. In order to talk about some matters that need clarification the parties arranged to meet on February 11 without determining the certain time and place.
 

According to initial data, on the day of the incident S. Miqayekyan in his own car driven by his friend went to D. Hakobyan’s residence – Shamakhyan district. The visit took place at about 22:00 and on the way back shots were fired by D. Hakobyan towards S. Miqayelyan’s car which hit different parts of the car. As a result, S. Miqayelyan sustained several bodily injuries.
 

Through investigation sufficient evidence were obtained on the allegation that there was a rifle and military bullets in S. Miqayelyan’s car, too and after the shots fired towards his car he shot fires to the air to frighten and escaped.
 

On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against D. Hakobyan according to the Point 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code.
 

A separate criminal case was initiated on illegal procurement and keeping of weapon and ammunition by S. Miqayelyan and in the framework of the mentioned criminal case charge was pressed against him according to the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code.
 

Preliminary investigation of both criminal cases was completed and with the bill of indictment was sent to prosecutor supervising the legality of preliminary investigation.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
