In the result of large-scale investigative and other procedural actions conducted within the criminal case investigated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of circumstances of 37 year-old man’s murder, the motive were found out, another grave crime was disclosed; one more murder followed 37 year-old man’s murder.

It was earlier informed that three persons having used alcohol at the area called “Bji gyol” located on the bank of the river Hrazdan, for the purpose of deprivation of life with particular cruelty, had hit 37 year-old man with a hammer. As a result the latter had lost consciousness. Then one of those involved in the incident – 31 year-old man noticing that the man was alive, in order to complete criminal intention, threw him into the concrete water pipe. Regaining consciousness the man had tried to catch from the water pipe wall but one of the men had noticed it and kicked him on the face. As a result, the man had again lost consciousness and fell into the water; his body was found in one of the water pipes of Yerevan hydro power stations.

In the result of investigative actions conducted during preliminary investigation it was found out that a person, not identified by investigation yet, had witnessed the murder and those having committed the murder had noticed him. In order to conceal the crime one of them – 31 year-old man hit the man twice on the neck with an axe. Then making sure that the latter was dead threw his body into the river Hrazdan which was found in Yerevan Lake on March 22, 2021 at 13:30.

Considering the new circumstances a new criminal case was initiated according to the Point 11 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 and a decision was made to combine the mentioned two criminal cases in one proceeding and to conduct joint investigation.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to find out all circumstances of the cases, to identify the second victim, to provide the objective and comprehensive investigation.
