Preliminary investigation of the part separated on two persons from the criminal proceeding initiated on hooliganism committed in Hasratyan Street, Yerevan by a group of citizens of the Republic of India, murder of one of them, infliction of heavy damage to health, was completed.

On June 19, 2023 a call was received informing that there was a body of a young Indian with cut-pierced wounds on the back, at the petrol station operating at the mentioned address.

Through investigation initiated with regard to the case in the Investigative Division of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee it was found out and grounded that the alleged crime had been committed by the latter’s countryman during the argument among a group of citizens of the Republic of India.

Pursuant to factual data obtained through investigation, 28 year-old citizen of India, who was in the RA on the base of residence, had a telephone conversation with his two countrymen, who were in Yerevan, about employment of his other countrymen and because of the insults uttered during the telephone conversation, he intended to humiliate the latter.

For this purpose he arranged with one of the persons he had had a telephone call – 30 year-old Indian to meet at the petrol station located in Hasratyan Street, to get clarifications.

After it, gathering his countrymen in advance, on June 19, 2023 at about 00:14 28 year-old young man went with them to the mentioned address where meeting his 30 year-old countryman and the latter’s two friends, committed apparent hooligan acts to insult their dignity.

Particularly, organized by 28 year-old young man, his 26 year-old friend and others not identified yet, willfully violating public order roughly, hindering the normal work of the petrol station, started arguing with the other party, uttered obscene expressions at them.

Then, 28 year-old Indian’s 26 year-old friend first with hands then with a knife, as well as another person from their group, not identified yet, hit 30 year-old man’s friend with a blackjack, causing bodily injuries threatening to life.

Besides, the mentioned 26 year-old young man chased his 30 year-old countryman who had gone to the back part of the petrol station, where with the intent to illegally deprive him of life, caused bodily injuries to him with a knife. As a result, the man died. Then 28 year-old citizen of India, his 26 year-old friend and others, not identified yet, fled.

On the base of the obtained factual data charge was pressed against 28 year-old young man, who had organized the apparent hooliganism, according to the Part 3 of the Article 297 of RA Criminal Code, charge was pressed against his 26 year-old friend according to the Part 1 of the Article 155, the Points 5 and 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 166 and the Part 3 of the Article 297 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was used as a pretrial measure against them.

Preliminary investigation on the part of the mentioned 2 defendants was completed. The materials of the criminal proceeding on them were sent to the prosecutor for approval and referral to court. Investigative actions are conducted, operative-intelligence measures are taken to identify those involved in the apparent hooligan acts and to find them.
