Preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated on 35 year-old woman’s murder by 31 year-old man was completed.

Through factual data obtained in the result of investigative and procedural actions conducted in the Investigative Division of Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee it was grounded that on May 4, 2022 between 21:15 and 23:20 in the apartment of a house located on Adonts Street, Yerevan, 31 year-old man argued with his former wife and in the presence of their daughter child, with the intent to deprive the wife of life with particular cruelty, ignoring and showing indifference to the painful feelings of his daughter and wife, used violence against the latter causing bodily injuries. Then, going on with his criminal intention, with the intent to suffocate, 31 year-old man pressed his former wife’s neck. As a result, 35 year-old woman died of mechanical suffocation.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against the man according to the Point 5 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 of the RA former Criminal Code which corresponds to the Point 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 155 of the RA current Criminal Code. Detention was used as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation was completed. The materials of the criminal proceeding with the bill of indictment were sent to the prosecutor for approval and referral to the court.
