In the course of the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding investigated in the Department for Investigation of Crimes on Human Trafficking, against Sexual Immunity of Juveniles and Illegal Turnover of Drugs of General Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee it was found out and grounded that a group of individuals, with prior agreement of illegally procuring narcotic drugs for sale, on September 8, 2025 illegally procured narcotic drugs of “Marijuana” type in particularly large amount – 18.3 kg. 

Subsequently, A.M. and B.A., eco-patrols of the Eco-patrol Service of the RA Ministry of Environment traveled to Syunik region to take the narcotic drugs in particularly large amount. After taking the narcotics, the eco-patrols placed them in a car registered in the name of A.M.’s mother and, in order to conceal the process of transporting the narcotics to Yerevan, created the illusion that the car was broken down. A.M., on B.A.’s instructions, on September 8, 2025 contacted a resident of Kapan town of Syunik region, via the phone number he used, and reached an agreement to transport the car to Yerevan for a fee.

After the car had arrived in Yerevan, a group member A.M. approached the driver, took the keys to the car loaded with narcotic drugs, got out and parked, after which he was arrested by the officers of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs Patrol Service. During the search, 18.3 kg of "Marijuana", in particularly large amount, hidden in the car was discovered and confiscated.

During the preliminary investigation public criminal prosecution was initiated against A.M., B.A. and A.M. according to the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 393 of RA Criminal Code. 

Detention was applied as a pretrial measure against them. 

The criminal proceeding with the bill of indictment was sent to the prosecutor.
