Public Criminal Prosecution Initiated against 12 of those Involved in Murder, Murder Attempt Committed in Ajapnyak

 

As a result of large-scale investigative and procedural actions conducted by the investigative group formed of numerous investigators, as well as operative-intelligence measures taken by the police officials of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs within the criminal proceeding initiated in the Division for Investigation of Grave Crimes of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on murder committed with a firearm on February 18, 2026  in Abelyan Street of Ajapnyak administrative district of Yerevan, a number of circumstances of the case, as well as the main range of those involved have been found out.  

Particularly, though preliminary investigation the person who had committed murder of one person with a firearm, in a way dangerous for other people’s life, as well as murder attempt against 7 people in the same way, was identified. Public criminal prosecution was initiated against him according to the Points 7 and 8 of the Part 2 of the Article 155, the Points 7 and 8 of the Part 2 of the Article 44-155 (7 counts), the Part 3 of the Article 297 and the Part 1 of the Article 335 of RA Criminal Code. 

Besides, as a result of large-scale investigative and procedural actions, a number of people involved in the armed incident were personalized. Public criminal prosecution was initiated against 11 more people. 

Simultaneous searches were conducted at over 40 addresses, as a result of which items, objects of significance for the investigation were found. 

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. All the necessary measures are being taken to identify the full range of people involved and to give criminal-legal assessment to their actions.
