Preliminary Investigation of Criminal Proceeding Initiated on Applying Violence against 5 Inspectors of Customs Checkpoint Completed

 

In the course of the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding investigated in the Department for Investigation of General and Election-Related Crimes of General Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee it was found out and grounded that on January 15, 2024, 5 inspectors of the Bavra Customs Department of the RA State Revenue Committee, arguing with 4 people returning to Armenia from Georgia, used violence against them.  

In the course of the preliminary investigation public criminal prosecution was initiated against 5 customs inspectors according to the Points 1 and 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 441 of RA Criminal Code. 

Absence ban and suspension of office was applied as a pretrial measure against them. 

The criminal proceeding with the bill of indictment was sent to the prosecutor for approval and referral to court. 

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
