Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on murder committed in Brnakot was completed in Sisian Investigative Division of Syunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. Charge was pressed against 22 year-old son of the victim.

It was earlier informed that on January 6, 2019 at about 17:00 murder was committed in one of the houses of Brnakot village of Sisian community of Syunik province.

Through preliminary investigation circumstances, motive of murder were found out.

Pursuant to data obtained during pretrial proceeding on the day of the incident on January 6, 2019 at about 17:00 a row erupted on domestic matters between the young man, born in 1997, and his 51 year-old father. During the argument the young man stabbed his father on the neck and face with a kitchen knife then hit him on the head with a brick which was on the oven after which he stabbed him on the chest for several times with another kitchen knife causing the man's death.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against the young man, born in 1997, according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation was completed and the criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to court.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
