A criminal case was initiated in Gegharquniq Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on murder of 60 year-old woman. Charge was pressed against 27 year-old son for committing murder.
 

On September 8, 2016 at about 15:50 a call was received from Martuni’s medical center informing that a woman’s stabbed body was discovered in one of the houses of the village of Nerqin Getashen of Gegharquniq region.  
 

The investigatory-operative group headed by the head of regional investigative department A. Ghazaryan left for the site immediately. Urgent investigatory actions were conducted to find the circumstances of woman’s death.
 

According to initial data at the moment of the incident the 60 year-old woman was at home with her son. Arguing with mother over personal matters the son stabbed his mother for numerous times on her vital organs with a knife. O. Khachatryan died of bodily injuries she had sustained.
 

A criminal case was initiated in Martuni Investigative Division of Gegharquniq Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code.
 

On the base of the obtained evidence 27 year-old man was charged with murdering his mother according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code.
 

The investigator submitted a motion to the court to choose detention as a pretrial measure against him. The motion was sufficed.
 

Forensic medical, forensic biological, forensic chemical and forensic trace complex examinations were commissioned to find circumstances significant for the criminal case.
 

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
