In the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee search was declared against the Head of Division of Professional Education Inspection of State Education Inspectorate of the RA Ministry of Education and Science Samson Sahakyan.

Pursuant to initial data, in order to receive USA immigrant visa together with the documents submitted to the US Embassy to Armenia on April 11, 2017 the citizen submitted an official document – certificate on leaving secondary school. In order to find whether the certificate was real or not a query was sent by the US Embassy to the RA competent bodies. As a result, it was found that a graduate with such a name and surname was not registered in the register-book of certificate distribution of the graduates of the mentioned school; that is the certificate was false.  

A criminal case was initiated according to the Part 1 of the Article 325 of RA Criminal Code preliminary investigation of which is conducted in the Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. In the result of necessary investigatory actions the source, way of acquiring the false certificate was found; pursuant to the citizens’ testimonies the false certificate had been acquired from S. Sahakyan paying 1500 USD.

On the base of the obtained evidence the investigator of the RA IC Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department made a decision to involve S. Sahakyan as a defendant and search was declared against him. The relevant subdivisions of the police were tasked to take measures to find and bring him to the investigative body.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary investigatory actions are conducted to provide the comprehensive, objective and complete investigation, to verify the circumstances mentioned in the testimonies.
