The Deputy Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee Arsen Ayvazyan has received the delegation headed by the newly appointed Country Attaché of  Tbilisi Office of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration Imeda Tsitsiashvili.

Arsen Ayvazyan has mentioned that throughout the collaboration with Tbilisi Office of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration the RA Investigative Committee has always felt the support of the U.S. partners in the enhancement of efficiency of investigators through trainings, strengthening the capacities of the Committee, moving organizational and legal procedures to a higher level of quality. They contribute to the disclosure of crimes on illegal turnover of narcotic drugs, international collaboration in this field.

Imeda Tsitsiashvili has also expressed satisfaction in relation with the high level of the established cooperation. She has emphasized that illegal turnover of narcotic drugs is one of the most dangerous transnational crimes and the main pledge of the effective fight against it is the close international cooperation, experience exchange and conveying the willingness of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration to provide possible technical and methodological support to Armenia in the fight against this evil.

During the meeting issues related to the improvement of technologies of disclosure of cases on crimes on illegal turnover of narcotic drugs, professional capacities, enhancement of efficiency of investigations have been discussed.

The Armenian party has presented the serious achievements of the RA criminal prosecution bodies in the recent period in fight against illegal turnover of narcotic drugs, especially through various online platforms, electronic wallets, money laundering through crypto currencies.

Mutual readiness has been reaffirmed to confirm the current high level of cooperation between the RA Investigative Committee and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration by signing a memorandum and to outline new directions and forms of its expansion. During the meeting issues on working out the memorandum, on the process of the final agreements have been discussed.
