Information about Results of Investigation of Criminal Cases on Domestic Violence Investigated in RA Investigative Committee in First Term of 2021

Criminal cases on domestic violence investigated in the first term of 2021 were studied in the RA Investigative Committee. Pursuant to brief data, in the mentioned period 326 criminal cases on domestic violence were investigated and 128 materials on domestic violence were prepared in the Investigative Committee.

Out of the mentioned 326 criminal cases

  • 8 were initiated according to the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code (murder),
  • 1 – according to the Article 106 of RA Criminal Code (murder of a newly born child by the mother),
  • 5 – according to the Article 110 of RA Criminal Code (causing to commit suicide),
  • 1 – according to the Article 111 of RA Criminal Code (abetment of suicide),
  • 5 – according to the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code (infliction of willful heavy damage to health),
  • 3 – according to the Article 113 of RA Criminal Code (infliction of willful medium-gravity damage to health),
  • 19 – according to the Article 117 of RA Criminal Code (infliction of willful light damage to health),
  • 161 – according to the Article 118 of RA Criminal Code (battery),
  • 17 – according to the Article 119 of RA Criminal Code (causing strong pain or mental sufferance),
  • 2 – according to the Article 121 of RA Criminal Code (inflicting medium-gravity damage through negligence),
  • 2 – according to the Article 131 of RA Criminal Code (kidnapping),
  • 2 – according to the Article 133 of RA Criminal Code (illegal deprivation of  freedom),
  • 21 – according to the Article 137 of RA Criminal Code (threat to murder, to inflict heavy damage to one’s health or to destroy property),
  • 3 – according to the Article 138 of RA Criminal Code (rape),
  • 1 – according to the Article 139 of RA Criminal Code (violent sexual actions),
  • 5 – according to the Article 141 of RA Criminal Code (sexual intercourse or other sexual acts with a person obviously under 16),
  • 1 – according to the Article 142 of RA Criminal Code (lecherous acts),
  • 14 – according to the Article 167.1 of RA Criminal Code (hindering to visits of parent or other close relative to the child),
  • 3 – according to the Article 168 of RA Criminal Code (sale or purchase of child for the purpose of taking up care),
  • 13 – according to the Article 173 of RA Criminal Code (willful evasion from supporting one’s child by the parent),
  • 5 – according to the Article 185 of RA Criminal Code (willful destruction or spoilage of property),
  • 26 – according to the Article 353.1 of RA Criminal Code (willful failure to carry out an effective court sentence) and 8 – according to other articles of RA Criminal Code.

 Within the above-mentioned cases 145 persons were involved as a defendant 52 of which were between the ages of 18 and 35, 93 – over 35.  

5 of the crimes committed in the family were committed by mother, 11 – by father, 2 – by step father, 9 – by brother (sister), 16 – by son/daughter (including adopted one), 6 – by wife, 90 – by husband, 4 – by father/mother-in-law, 3 – by daughter/son-in-law.

Within the criminal cases 291 persons were found the injured party 39 of which were up to 12 years old, 1 – between the ages of 12 and 14, 5 – between the ages of 14 and 16, 4 – between the ages of 16 and 18, 90 – between the ages of 18 and 35, 152 – over 35.

In the course of the first term of 2021 180 criminal cases on domestic violence were completed, proceeding of 124 criminal cases was terminated, 55 criminal cases with the bill of indictment were sent to court.
