Issues on Enhancement of Effectiveness of Victim-Centered Investigation within Criminal Proceedings on Human Trafficking Discussed at RA Investigative Committee (photos)

On March 27, 2023 the specialists of the Department of Investigation of Crimes on Human Trafficking, against Sexual Immunity of Juveniles and Illegal Turnover of Drugs met the team of the project “Together against human trafficking” implemented in Armenia by the Armenian branch of “World Vision International” international charity organization.
During the meeting the methodological drafts of the guidebook «On Providing trauma awareness and victim-centered approaches when working with persons subjected to trafficking or exploitation” developed within the project especially for investigators, its usage have been presented. They have also been developed under the co-authorship of the specialist of the Department of Investigation of Crimes on Human Trafficking, against Sexual Immunity of Juveniles and Illegal Turnover of Drugs.
Legal relationships supporting trauma awareness and victim-centered approaches in the work with people found victims within the criminal proceedings initiated on human trafficking or exploitation, the specific features of conducting investigative actions within these proceedings, certain tactical and methodological approaches are defined in the guidebook.
The project manager Tigran Hovhannisyan has emphasized in his speech that the officers of the RA Investigative Committee conducting pretrial proceeding have a key role in providing victim-centered approach and victim centered investigation within the criminal proceedings on human trafficking or exploitation.
Issues on the implementation and enforcement of the guidebook have been discussed during the meeting.
