Investigative and other procedural actions are conducted within the criminal case initiated in Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code to find out circumstances of infliction of heavy bodily damage to 48 year-old resident of Vardenis town.

The call on the accident was received on January 16, 2022 at 19:00 from “Vardenis” medical center informing Vardenis Police Division that the resident of Vardenis, born in 1973, with a diagnosis of “penetrating, bleeding injuries on the abdomen and left forearm” was taken to the medical center.

During preliminary investigation it was found out that 48 year-old man had received the mentioned injury on the same day at about 18:00 during the argument on the issue of sale and purchase of a car in Torfavan village of Gegharkunik region by his fellow citizen who had willfully stabbed him and fled.

Inspection of the scene was conducted during which blood-like traces were found, confiscations were conducted, witnesses were questioned, forensic genetic, forensic medical and forensic trace examinations were commissioned.

On January 17, 2022 the resident of Vardenis turned himself to Vardenis Police Division. The latter was brought to the investigative body and arrested on suspicion of infliction of heavy bodily damage to 48 year-old man.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
