One Person Arrested on Suspicion of Armed Banditry against Bank
A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on banditry by using weapon or other items as a weapon.
Pursuant to initial data, on January 29, 2019 the person having committed the alleged crime entered the branch of “VTB Armenia Bank” CJSC and broke the door glass of the branch manager’s working room with an axe used as a weapon. Then waving the axe attacked him and demanded money threatening to use violence dangerous for life and health. However, he was neutralized by the police officer performing his duty in the bank and was apprehended to Arabkir police division.
A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Point 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 175 of RA Criminal Code.
During preliminary investigation it was found out that the person having committed the alleged crime is a citizen of the Republic of Georgia, Armenian by nationality, born in 1986. The latter was arrested on suspicion of committing the alleged crime.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
