The RA IC Deputy Chairman and the U.S. Consul in the RA Discussed Opportunities of Enhancement of Effectiveness of Cooperation (photos)
The Deputy Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee Arsen Ayvazyan received today the Consul of the United States of America in the Republic of Armenia Jane Jensen.
Arsen Ayvazyan assessed highly the cooperation between the RA Investigative Committee and the U.S. Embassy in Armenia. The RA IC Deputy Chairman added that within separate criminal proceedings significant experience of information exchange with the U.S. Consulate has been accumulated which is based on the existing mutual understanding in the disclosure of crime cases.
Mr. Ayvazyan considered the deepening of cooperation with the U.S. Consulate: important taking into consideration the presence of a large Armenian community in the United States, active movements of the citizens of both countries and the necessity of prevention or disclosure of possible criminal manifestations conditioned by them.
Mrs. Jensen also underlined the effectiveness of the work done with the RA Investigative Committee within prompt response to cases of submission of fake documents to the U.S. Consulate.
Both parties expressed willingness to make the direct communication more intensive based primarily on the importance of protection of the rights of citizens of both countries related to the functions of the Consulate, as well as the fight against crime.
During the meeting issues on protection of procedural rights of the U.S. citizens under prosecution in Armenia, improvement of communication mechanisms between the RA Investigative Committee and the U.S. Consulate were discussed.
