Investigation is conducted in Artik and Ani Investigative Division of Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find out circumstances of juvenile’s stabbing.

On October 14, 2018 at 22:06 the resident of Artik submitted a report to Artik Division of the RA Police informing that on the same day at about 22:00 there was a quarrel in their yard and she heard from neighbors that her grandson had been stabbed.

On the same day at 22:50 a resident of Artik, born in 2002, with a diagnosis of «cut-pierced wound on the left part of the chest» was taken to «Artik Medical Center» CJSC.

A criminal case was initiated in Artik and Ani Investigative Division of Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code.

In the result of measures taken within the criminal case it was found out that the juvenile had sustained the bodily injury during the quarrel that took place in Artik. Data were obtained on the motive of the argument, the persons having committed the alleged crime; they are residents of Shirak region, born in 1995 and 1992.

Particularly, on October 14, 2018 at about 22:00 a group of young men living in Artik argued with the residents of the same town – father and son during which one of the young men – 23 year-old, threatened father and son with a knife, another young man involved in the quarrel – 26 year-old, stabbed 16 year-old juvenile.

Besides, a report was also received from a group of residents of Artik informing that a group of young men willfully, rudely violated the public order, argued and made a noise. A criminal case was initiated according to the Part 4 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code. Considering that pursuant to obtained data the mentioned two reports relate to the same incident, a decision was made to join the two criminal cases in one proceeding.

23 year-old and 26 year-old young men were arrested on suspicion of committing the alleged crime.

Inspection of the scene was conducted, witnesses were questioned, forensic medical examination was commissioned. The relevant subdivisions of the Police were instructed to find out the frame of those involved in the quarrel and to bring to the investigative body.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Urgent investigatory and other procedural actions are conducted to provide the comprehensive, compete and objective investigation of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
