In the result of measures taken within the framework of the criminal proceeding investigated in the Investigative Division of Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee the person, wanted within the proceeding for banditry committed with a pneumatic gun against the U.S. citizen in Proshyan Street, Yerevan, was found.

On March 21, 2024 a call was received informing that an unknown person, with a weapon, had stolen the foreigner’s bag.

Through preliminary investigation conducted with regard to the case a pneumatic gun of «Stalker S17» model was found and taken from the scene.

In the result of investigative actions it was found out that the alleged theft from the U.S. citizen had been committed by a 25 year-old young man.

Pursuant to the factual data obtained through investigation, on March 21, 2024 at about 10:30 in the lovers’ park the latter approached the foreigner from the back, hit him on the head with a pneumatic gun, stole his bag and fled. He took the U.S. citizen’s wallet with money and bank cards in it, out of the bag, stole them and threw the bag away. While on the run the gun, strapped to his waist, fell to the ground. Public criminal prosecution had been initiated against the young man and search had been declared.

On April 15, 2024 the latter was found and brought to the investigative body. Charge was pressed against him according to the Point 5 of the Part 2 of the Article 252 of RA Criminal Code.

Detention was selected as a pretrial measure against him.

Besides, through investigation conducted within the mentioned proceeding, data were obtained that the same young man had stolen alcohol drinks from 2 different stores in Yerevan.

With regard to the mentioned cases criminal proceedings were initiated according to the Part 1 of the Article 253 and the Part 1 of the Article 254 of RA Criminal Code which later were combined to the proceeding on banditry committed with weapon. The circumstances are being found out.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary investigative actions are conducted to find out all circumstances of the mentioned criminal acts.
