ARTUR SHAHEN POGHOSYAN
Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia
Third-Class State Councilor of Justice

He was born on July 10, 1981 in the town of Spitak of Lori region.

Work Experience

November 28, 2024 – Appointed Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia by the decision of the RA Government;
2022–2024 – Deputy Military Prosecutor of the Republic of Armenia, then Deputy Prosecutor General of the RA Republic of Armenia;
2020–2022 – Head of the Investigative Department of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia;
2017–2020 – Deputy Prosecutor of Lori Marz, then Head of the Department for Anti-Corruption Crimes of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Armenia;
2013–2017 – Deputy Prosecutor of Shirak Marz;
April–November 2013 – Senior Prosecutor of Shirak Marz Prosecutor’s Office.
2011–2013 – Senior Prosecutor of Lori Marz Prosecutor’s Office;
April–October 2011 – Prosecutor of Lori Marz Prosecutor’s Office;
2006–2011 – Investigator of Vayots Dzor Marz Investigative Division of the General Investigative Department of the RA Police, later Investigator and then Senior Investigator of Lori Marz Investigative Division.

Education

1998–2002 – Graduated from the Faculty of Law of Yerevan State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Law.

Additional Information

2002 - 2004 – Served in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia;

December 18, 2020 was awarded Medal for Military Service by Decree № NH-344-A of the RA President; and on September 13, 2021 was awarded the Medal for Courage by Decree № NH-266-A;  
June 30, 2023 was conferred the rank of Third-Class State Counselor of Justice by the Decree of the RA President;

Was awarded also various departmental awards.

Personal Information

Married, father of three children.
