5 persons arrested for evasion from military service by a serviceman through forgery of documents or other fraud, bribery mediation, giving bribe, receiving bribe, abuse of power or transgression

On 12 February a criminal case was initiated on evasion from military service by a serviceman through forgery of documents or other fraud, bribery mediation, giving bribe, receiving bribe, abuse of power or transgression based on the materials obtained in the result of operative-searching measures taken by National Security Service in the framework of the criminal case investigated in General Military Investigative Department of RA Investigative Committee.
 

In the framework of the criminal case 5 persons were arrested on the base of the evidence obtained in the result of joint investigative actions implemented by the appropriate subdivisions of National Security Service and Military Police of Ministry of Defense.
 

Taking the public interest into consideration we inform that in the framework of the mentioned criminal case the member of central medical committee of RA Ministry of Defense, the acting head of department of therapy N 1of Yerevan State Medical University, Dr. Professor of medical sciences Alexander Ayvazyan, the head of department of allergy Kristina Jamalyan, the head of neuropsychological nursing home of Vardenis Artak Harutyunyan, ex-head of polyclinics of Nor-Aresh  Alen Babayan and conscript Samvel Verdiyan were arrested.
 

Particularly, A. Ayvazyan is suspected of receiving bribe in large amount, K. Jamalyan is suspected of receiving bribe in particularly large amount, A. Harutyunyan is suspected of assisting the evasion from military service by a serviceman through forgery of documents or other fraud, A. Babayan is suspected of bribery mediation and assisting the evasion from military service by a serviceman through forgery of documents or other fraud, S. Verdiyan is suspected of evasion from military service through forgery of documents or other fraud.
 

Preliminary investigation of the criminal case is ongoing. An investigative group has been formed of more experienced investigators. Necessary investigative and operative-searching measures are taken to reveal the crimes, as well as to find the frame of guilty persons.
