A criminal case initiated on death of Aharon Karapetyan in “Toto” bookmakers’ office

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of RA Investigative Committee on Aharon Karapetyan’s death in “Toto” bookmakers’ office.
 

On May 9, 2015 at about 22:30 a call was received informing that there was a body in “Toto” bookmakers’ office. The investigative group immediately left for the scene. During preparation of materials it was found that a row had erupted in the office during which A. Karapetyan had lost his balance, hit the wall with the nape section of the head and died at the scene.
 

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 109 of RA Criminal Code.
 

Inspection of the scene was conducted, the videos of the period of the incident captured by the cameras inserted in “Toto” bookmakers’ office were confiscated. Through their inspection it was found that on 09.05.2015 at 22:43 A. Karapetyan argued and battered a man with hands and feet in the mentioned office. The latter punched at his face once then pushed him in the result of which A. Karapetyan went back, lost balance, hit the wall with the nape section of his head and died.
 

A forensic examination has been appointed bit its result has not been received yet.
 

According to the medical certificate check on death received on 10.05.2015 from Scientific-Practical Center of Forensic Medicine of RA Ministry of Justice the reason of A. Karapetyan’s death was acute coronary insufficiency, hypodermic hemorrhage was also found at his left nape section.  
 

The other participant of the row was found, he surrendered himself and was interrogated.
 

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
