A criminal case initiated on improper implementation of professional duties by medical personnel

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department on improper implementation of professional duties by medical personnel which caused the death of the patient.
 

The resident of Yerevan Gayane Chanchapanyan submitted a written report informing that her son Artur Grigoryan received stationary medical treatment in “Erebuni” medical center from January 15 till February 6, 2015. In the result of the incorrect diagnosis, made by the head of department of rheumatology and the specialist invited as a pulmonologist, the disease “tuberculosis” her son was suffering from was not found. Contraindicated treatment was made in the result of which her son died in “Saint Gregory the Illuminator” medical center on February 21.
 

Materials prepared on the base of the resident’s report were received in the Investigative Division of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts on April 1 and on the same day a criminal case was initiated according to the Part 2 of the Article 130 of RA Criminal Code.
 

A forensic examination has been appointed to find the cause of death of the patient, as well as the possible professional violations made by medical personnel.
 

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
