In the result of investigatory actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case investigated in Aragatsotn Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of cases of swindling money by cheating from several persons committed by the former medical statistician of medical-social expert commission of Aragats region under the pretext of providing them with disability category were found.
 

Through preliminary investigation sufficient evidence were obtained on the allegation that medical statistician of medical-social expert commission of Aragats region of RA Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs G. Melqonyan, after being dismissed from job on January 1, 2014, went on introducing herself as an employee and demanded and received money in several amount from 10 residents of the region to provide them with disability categories, to extend their terms and not to deprive them from the category. According to preliminary investigation data, the amount of money demanded under the pretext of bribe was from 41.000 to 81.000 AMD.  
 

In the framework of the criminal case 10 persons were found affected. Charge was pressed against G. Melqonyan according to the Point 5 of the Part 2 of the Article 178 of RA Criminal Code (10 counts).   
 

In the result of investigatory actions, operative-searching measures taken to provide the comprehensive, objective and complete investigation data were obtained on the allegation that other persons were also affected by the actions of the mentioned woman and preliminary investigation is ongoing to verify them.  
 

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
