On March 15, 2015 the body of 46 year-old resident of Kotayq region, Arshak Araqelyan was found in the canyon near the village Nurnus of Kotayq region.
 

A. Araqelyan had been missing for more than two months. On January 12, 2015 Mher Araqelyan submitted a report to the Police station of Kotayq telling that his brother – 46 year-old Arshak Araqelyan left the house on January 9 and never returned.

By the materials prepared on the base of the report, on 22.01.2015 a criminal case was initiated in Kotayq Regional Investigative Department according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code. The appropriate subdivisions of the Police were instructed to take measure to find A. Araqelyan.
 

Through initial inspection of the body hematoma was found at the upper part of its left temple, scratches were found on its feet and the nose was lacerated by animals.
 

A forensic examination of the body was appointed to find the cause, the time of Arshak Araqelyan’s death, the nature of bodily damages, as well as some other circumstances important for the criminal case.
 

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
