Charge pressed against 2 persons for getting bribe for taking trees and wood cut illegally out of forest
In the result of investigatory actions of great volume conducted in Dilijan Investigative Division of Tavush Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee circumstances of getting bribe for taking the trees and wood cut illegally out of “Haghartsin” 6th section of “Dilijan National Park” SNCO were found. On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against two persons – special squad inspector of “Dilijan National Park” SNCO and senior forester of “Haghartsin” branch of the same SNCO.
Pursuant to initial data, special squad inspector of “Dilijan National Park” SNCO, being authorized to control everyday work of foresters, in order to get bribe offered to back one of the residents of “Dilijan” community to illegally take cut trees out of “Haghartsin” 6th section of “Dilijan National Park” SNCO.
According to data obtained through investigation the inspector and senior forester acted with prior agreement and from the end of March to early April, 2017 they got bribe from the resident of Haghartsin village of Tavush region for an illegal activity in favor of the latter – that is to allow him to take illegally cut trees and wood out of “Haghartsin” 6th section of “Dilijan National Park” SNCO. Besides, evidence were obtained on the allegation that in early April senior forester gave some part of the bribe money to the forester of the mentioned section not to hinder to taking out the wood illegally.
On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against special squad inspector according to the Part 1 of the Article 311 of RA Criminal Code, against senior forester according to the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 311 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against them.
Preliminary investigation of the criminal case is ongoing, necessary investigatory actions are conducted to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of circumstances of the case.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
