Charge pressed against three people in the framework of the criminal case initiated on death of the resident of Tsovak village H. Sargsyan
On September 20, 2014 at 19:00 the resident of Tsovak village of Gegharquniq region Hravard Sargsyan with craniocerebral trauma was taken to Vardenis hospital. A few days later he died in «Saint Gregory the Illuminator » CJSC without regaining consciousness.
On September 21, 2014 H. Sargsyan’s son Manuk Sargsyan reported to Vardenis Station of RA Police informing that on September 20, 2014 at about 18:30 he was driving his «BMW» on Vardenis-Yerevan highway. While overtaking another car he was stopped by «Vaz 21015» traveling in front of him.
He stopped his car after which 2 or 3 strangers who had got out of «Vaz 21015» started arguing with him and his father H. Sargsyan on signaling, beat them inflicting heavy damages in the result of which his father was taken to hospital.
A criminal case was initiated in Gegharquniq Regional Investigative Department.
In the result of taken measures the persons who had committed the alleged crime were identified.
On the base of the obtained evidence on September 25, 2014 H. Shaboyan was charged according to the Point 14 of the Part 2 of the Article 112. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.
On 2 October, 2014 Z. Karapetyan was charged according to the Points 6 and 14 of the Part 2 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.
On October 6 M. Hakobyan was charged according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code. On the same day the investigator mediated to choose detention as pretrial measure against him.
On the same day the investigator’s motion to choose two months’ detention as a pretrial measure was upheld by the decision of the Court of First Instance of Gegharquniq. Then the defense motion to choose optional pretrial measure – bail instead of detention against M. Hakobyan was also upheld by the court.
Preliminary investigation is under way.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
