In the framework of the criminal case investigated in Vagharshapat Investigative Division of Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee charge was pressed against the head of territorial agency of Vagharshapat’s social service H. Avetisyan for receiving a bribe by extortion.  
 

According to preliminary investigation data, the head of territorial agency of Vagharshapat’s social service, being an official, demanded a bribe from the resident of one of the villages of Armavir region who has three minor children to include her in “Paros” social program. According to the obtained evidence, he demanded from the woman a bribe equal to a month pay of welfare benefit threatening not to include her in the program in case she failed to comply. H. Avetisyan took the demanded money in his office on December 6.
 

A criminal case was initiated according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 311 of RA Criminal Code the investigation of which is conducted in Vagharshapat Investigative Division of Ararat Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. During investigation the results of internal and external views were received from General Department of Fight against Crime.
 

Charge was pressed against head of territorial agency of Vagharshapat’s social service H. Avetisyan according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 311 of RA Criminal Code, detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.
 

Preliminary investigation is ongoing, necessary investigatory actions are conducted to provide the comprehensive, objective and complete investigation of the case.
