In the framework of the criminal case initiated on murder of 80 year-old woman investigated in Kotayq Regional Investigative Department of RA Investigative Committee charge was pressed against the woman’s son.

As it was earlier informed, the citizen A. Nazaryan had submitted a report informing that her brother who was suffering from schizophrenia had not allowed her to enter her paternal home and see her 80 year-old mother for about a month.

On August 28, 2015 with the help of police officers A. Nazaryan visited her paternal home – house 154, Shahumyan Street, Hrazdan town. The body of 80 year-old Araqsya Harutyunyan was found in the pit of the garage next to the house.

A criminal case was initiated in Kotayq Regional Investigative Department of RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code (murder).

Forensic examinations were commissioned.

On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against Araqsya Harutyunyan’s son H. Nazaryan pursuant to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code (murder).

On August 31, 2015 signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against the 80 year-old woman’s son.

Forensic psychiatric stationery examination, as well as forensic medical examination was appointed against him in order to find the existence of damages on his body. He was taken to “Norq” Psychiatric Medical Center.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of the case.
