A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on murder of the resident of Yerevan Alaverdi Tumasyan. On the base of the obtained evidence the victim’s son was charged with murder.
 

On July 21, 2016 the resident of Yerevan V. Tumasyan submitted a report informing that on the same day at about 03:00 his father A. Tumasyan fell down in their flat in the result of which he sustained bodily injuries. The ambulance brigade that had left for the mentioned flat on the base of the alarm recorded the latter’s death.
 

During preparation of materials on the incident forensic medical examination of the body was commissioned. Traces of violence were found on the body - diffuse traumatic brain injury, mechanical suffocation, close blunt trauma on the brain and neck, thoracic 1st vertebra fracture of spine and other injuries were diagnosed.
 

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code.  
 

In the result of investigatory actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case it was found that on July 20, 2016 at about 23:00 A. Tumasyan’s son argued with him at home over domestic matters. During the argument he was inflicted injuries incompatible with life.
 

During preliminary investigation inspection of the site was conducted during which bloodlike traces were found at different parts of the flat, bloody slippers were found, as well which belonged to V. Tumasyan.
 

On the base of the obtained evidence on July 25 charge was pressed against V. Tumasyan according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code. The investigator submitted a motion to court to use detention as a pretrial measure against him.
 

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, objective and complete investigation of circumstances of the case.
