With regard to the fact a criminal proceeding was initiated in the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 155 of RA Criminal Code the further investigation of which was conducted in Dilijan Investigative Division of Tavush Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

In the result of operative-intelligence and operative-searching measures, on June 15, 2023 at about 13:55 Ye. Sergeyeva’s body, naked and partially vandalized, was found at the forest area of the 2nd bend of Dilijan-Yerevan highway.

Through external inspection of the body hemorrhages were found. Recognition of the body with mother’s participation was conducted. A decision was made to find the latter as the victim instead of the dead victim.

Forensic medical expertise of the victim was commissioned. Pursuant to initial inspection Ye. Sergeyeva’s death was caused by cranial trauma.

Clothes with blood-like traces, which belonged to Ye. Sergeyeva and a man, were found on various sections of Sevan-Dilijan-Vanadzor road.

A number of persons were questioned. Videos captured by the cameras inserted at “Zvartnots” airport and other places were confiscated and examined.

In the result of taken measures it was found out that Ye. Sergeyeva arrived in Armenia on June 4, 2023 on Moscow-Yerevan flight.

The latter had not been in any hostile relations either in the RF or in the RA area, however she had been in tense relations with R.T. the U.S. citizen after breaking up with him.

It was also found out that having arrived at the airport Ye. Sergeyeva left the airport area in a car of “Toyota” make with a Georgian license plate the driver of which was the U.S. citizen R.T., born in 1989.

In the result of large-scale investigative and procedural actions, as well as operative-intelligence measures it was found out that Ye. Sergeyeva’s murder had been apparently committed by the mentioned person – the U.S. citizen and the reason of murder had been jealousy and strained personal relationship.

Particularly, through investigation it was found out that in 2019 the U.S. citizen R.T. got acquainted with Ye. Sergeyeva in Moscow with whom he communicated until May, 2020 then they broke up. The reason of breaking up was creating frequent scenes of jealousy, attempts to control Ye. Sergeyeva’s movement by R.T.. The latter not being able to put up with the fact of breaking up with Ye. Sergeyeva, regularly tried to restore their relationship, anyway he was refused. He troubled the girl in several ways, threatened her, disseminated disgracing data about her. When he learnt that Ye. Sergeyeva started relations with another man, he started threatening to damage her.

In order to finally clarify and stop the relations between them, Ye. Sergeyeva agreed to meet R.T. for the last time. They arranged to meet on June 4, 2023 in Yerevan, so on May 16, 2023 Ye. Sergeyeva bought Moscow-Yerevan-Moscow ticket with the date of the meeting day and the return direction of the same day. On the mentioned day at 12:55 she arrived at “Zvartnots” airport of Yerevan on flight N SU 1860 from Moscow. R.T. not bearing the fact that she had another boy-friend, under the pretext of meeting her for the last time and with the intent to illegally deprive her of life, rented a black car of “Toyota” make in Tbilisi, Georgia in which on May 31, 2023 at 14:52 he entered Armenia through Gogavan checkpoint.

Before Ye. Sergeyeva had arrived in the Republic of Armenia, in order to cover his criminal attention in advance, spent nights in different hotels for daily rent. On June 4 he rented a guest house for one day via Internet in Yeghvard community of Kotayk region after which on the same day in the car rented by him drove to “Zvartnots” airport where at 13:01 he met Ye. Sergeyeva and they left for Yerevan together in the mentioned car.

They had a meal in the restaurant “Katsin” located in Amiryan Street after which in the same car they drove in the direction of the guest house rented by him. On the same day between 15:34 and 17:31, with the intent to realize his criminal intention, in an unidentified place, he hit Ye. Sergeyeva on the head and different parts of her body. The latter died of cranial trauma caused by the hitting. Then he drove in the direction of Bagratashen checkpoint along Hrazdan-Sevan-Dilijan-Vanadzor-Alaverdi-Bagratashen route.

In order to abolish the traces he concealed Ye. Sergeyeva’s body without clothes at the forest area on the right from the third bend of Dilijan-Sevan highway and threw her and his clothes and personal things to various sections of the route. Then on the same day at 23:41 R.T. left the RA area through Bagratashen checkpoint in the mentioned car leaving for Georgia. In the result of the work carried out together with the law enforcement bodies of Georgia it was found out that on 05.06.2023 the latter handed the car over to the company and flew to Turkey.

On the base of the obtained sufficient facts the investigative body submitted a motion to the prosecutor to initiate a public criminal prosecution against R.T. according to the Part 1 of the Article 155 of RA Criminal Code. It was sufficed.

A motion was submitted to court to use detention as a pretrial measure against the accused which was sufficed by the court and search against R.T. was declared.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
