Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on murder of expert Karen Vardanyan is ongoing in the Investigative Division of Malatia-Sebastia administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.
 

Taking public interest into consideration we inform that conclusions of stationary forensic psychological and forensic psychiatric examinations commissioned against the accused G. Zohrabyan and A. Mihranyan were received according to which they were found responsible.
 

Expert Karen Vardanyan’s murder was committed on March 17, 2016. According to sufficient evidence obtained through preliminary investigation, near Akhtamar peninsula of Sevan G. Zohrabyan and A. Mihranyan struck K. Vardanyan on the head with a stone for numerous times. Seeing that he was dead they took his body to Yerevan and buried in G. Zohrabyan's garage.
 

On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against A. Mihranyan and G. Zohrabyan according to the Points 7 and 8 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code (murder by an organized group out of mercenary motives). Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against them.
 

By the investigator’s decision stationary forensic psychological and forensic psychiatric examinations were commissioned against the accused to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of the criminal case.
 

According to the conclusions N 55 and 38 while committing the offence A. Mihranyan and G. Zohrabyan could, as well as currently they can realize the danger of their actions and control them. Thus, according to experts’ assessment they should be found responsible.
