The banditry committed in Alaverdi a few days ago completely revealed

In the framework of the criminal case being investigated in Tumanyan Investigative Division of Lori Regional Investigative Department of RA Investigative Committee on banditry committed in Alaverdi the third person having participated in banditry was identified, found and involved as a defendant.
 

Earlier it was informed that on 19 November, 2014 the resident of Alaverdi Garegin Hakhinyan reported that on the same day at about 16:30 3 masked and armed people illegally entered the shop located  at 51/1 Tumanyan, Alaverdi which belonged to his wife – the entrepreneur Gayane Grigoryan, by using a weapon they stole golden jewels  and escaped.
 

On the same day a criminal case was initiated in Tumanyan Investigative Division of Lori Regional Investigative Department of RA Investigative Committee according to the Points 1, 3 and 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 175 and the Part 2 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code.
 

Considering the complexity and the volume of the criminal case, as well as the necessity of implementation of simultaneous capacious investigative and procedural activities, on 20 November, 2014 an investigative group was created by the head of Lori Regional Investigative Department consisted of the investigators of the same department and Tumanyan Investigative Division. The head of the group was the department’s senior investigator for particularly important cases.
 

Through the investigative activities and operative-intelligence measures it was found that on 19 November, 2014 at about 16:30 3 masked and armed people with the intent to commit banditry illegally entered the shop located  at 51/1 Tumanyan, Alaverdi which belonged to the entrepreneur Gayane Grigoryan, by using a weapon threatened  3 assistants in the shop and stole golden jewels.
 

After the assistants had turned on the security alarm system, the people having committed the banditry took the stolen golden jewels and escaped in “Nissan”.

In the framework of the investigation it was also found that the car of the people having committed the apparent crime crashed into “GAZ 2410” driven by the resident of Alaverdi, Sargsyan after which they tried to hide.
 

In the result of the investigative activities and operative measures the people having committed the apparent crime were identified and hours later two of them were found in the district “Lenhanqer”. On the same day at 23:45 they were apprehended to the Police station of Tumanyan.
 

On 20 November the resident of Vanadzor H. Margaryan and the resident of Yerevan A. Martirosyan were arrested on suspicion of committing banditry.
 

At the same time, immediately after they had been apprehended, through the examination of the area the stolen golden jewels were found and confiscated.
 

During the preliminary investigation of the criminal case on 20 November, 2014 the car “Nissan Skyline”, which belonged to the people having committed a crime, was found in the forest area “Ziliza”. The front registration plate of the car was covered with sticks in order to remain unnoticed.
 

On the base of the obtained evidence on 22 November, 2014 a charge was pressed against A. Martirosyan and H. Margaryan according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 175 and the Part 2 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. They refused to give testimony. On the same day by the decision of the Court of First Instance of Lori detention was used as pretrial measures against the defendants.
 

During the further preliminary investigation of the criminal case through the combination of the sufficient evidence obtained in accordance with the law the third person was identified, as well. He is Serik Hovhannisyan.
 

On 1 December, 2014 Serik Hovhannisyan was found and charged according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 175 and the Part 2 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.
 

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
