In the result of investigatory and other procedural actions conducted in Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of circumstances of 66 year-old man’s murder in Hrazdan town were found out. Two persons were detained.

It was earlier informed that on November 26, 2019 at the entrance of one of the houses of Kentron district of Hrazdan town the person having committed the alleged crime attacked the resident of Hrazdan, born in 1953, Levon Chuljyan and stabbed him on several parts of his body with a cutting-piercing item; on the way to hospital 66 year-old man died of bodily injuries he had sustained.

In the result of investigatory and other procedural actions of great volume conducted within the criminal case initiated in Kotayk Regional Investigative Department circumstances of causing 66 year-old man bodily injuries incompatible with life were found out, two persons having committed the alleged crime were identified; they are residents of Hrazdan town, born in 2000 and 2001.

Pursuant to data obtained through investigation, on November 26, 2019 at about 08:30 with the purpose of swindling somebody else’s property and illegal deprivation from life, 19 and 18 year-old residents of Hrazdan attacked Levon Chuljyan at the entrance of one of the houses of Kentron district of the same town. One of them – 19 year-old young man attempted to hit Levon Chuljyan on the head with a stone but he failed after which the other – 18 year-old young man stabbed 66 year-old man.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against 19 year-old resident of Hrazdan according to the Points 1 and 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 175 of RA Criminal Code. Charge was pressed against 18 year-old young man according to the Point 8 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code. A motion was submitted to court to use detention as a pretrial measure against them. It was sufficed.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
