In the result of investigatory and other procedural actions of great volume conducted in Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee the real person having committed the alleged murder of 57 year-old resident of Vanadzor was identified.

It was earlier informed that on February 5, 2020 in their house located in Vanadzor the resident of the same town found her husband’s body with traces of violence about which the Police had informed.

Through comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of the criminal case it was found out that, in fact, the alleged murder had not been committed by 20 year-old young man arrested on suspicion of committing murder, but by a 32 year-old resident of Vanadzor. While being questioned as a witness the latter had accused 20 year-old young man of committing the mentioned murder and fled.

A decision was made to terminate criminal prosecution against 20 year-old young man based on the absence of crime, as well as to involve 32 year-old man as a defendant according to the Article 104 (murder) and the Article 333 (false crime reporting) of RA Criminal Code, detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him and search was declared.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
