In the framework of the criminal case investigated in Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee A. Shahinyan wanted for murder attempt committed against the resident of Vanadzor Edmon Harutyunyan in August, 2017 was found.

It was earlier informed that on August 14, 2017 Edmon Harutyunyan with a firearm injury on the abdomen was taken to “Vanadzor Medical Center” CJSC.

A criminal case was initiated in Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 34-104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. Investigatory actions of great volume were taken to find all circumstances of the case. As a result, the site where E. Harutyunyan had sustained firearm injury was found, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a resident of Vanadzor, born in 1982.
 

Particularly, through preliminary investigation data were obtained on the allegation that in front of the house 64, Yerevanyan Street the man, born in 1982, fired shots from the front passenger seat of the car of «Opel» make towards E. Harutyunyan with the purpose of depriving him from life then escaped. E. Harutyunyan with a firearm injury was taken to medical center and was provided with appropriate medical aid. As a result, his life was saved.

On the base of the obtained evidence on August 19, 2017 the investigator made a decision to involve the resident of Vanadzor A. Shahinyan, born in 1982, as a defendant. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him and search was declared, the police was tasked to take measures to find the wanted and bring him to the investigative body.

On January 8, 2018 the wanted was found and was brought to the investigative body. Today – on January 9 charge was pressed against him according to the Part 1 of the Article 34-104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing, measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of circumstances of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
