In the result of investigatory and other procedural actions conducted in the Investigative Division of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of circumstances of sister’s murder with particular cruelty committed by a 58 year-old man were found out.

It was earlier informed that on August 1, 2020 at 18:06 while carrying out service in Movses Khorenatsi Street police officers noticed a man with a polyethylene bag in his hand. They approached him and found that there was a head of a beheaded woman in the polyethylene bag.

Through the criminal case initiated on the incident it was found out that 58 year-old man living in his sister’s house for about 6 months and being under her care, on August 1, 2020 at about 16:30 for the purpose of willful illegal deprivation of life, took a household device from the kitchen, secretly entered his sister’s bedroom where the latter was busy with the computer and did not notice her brother approaching. He started to strangle his sister with the cable of the mentioned device and pushed her to the floor. Seeing that the latter was still moving, in order to complete his intention, he took a 35 cm long homemade sharpened iron and using it as a knife started to cut his sister’s head from the area of the throat thus murdering her with particular cruelty.

Then beheading his sister’s body he left it in the same place, put the head in the polyethylene bag, took the certificate of ownership of his sister’s house and other documents and left.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against 58 year-old man according to the Point 5 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 (murder) of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
