On August 1, 2020 at 18:10 a division head of the RA Police submitted a report informing that on the same day at 18:06 while carrying out service duties in Movses Khorenatsi Street they noticed a citizen with a polyethylene bag in his hand. When they approached the mentioned citizen to make clarifications it was found out that there was a beheaded woman’s head in the polyethylene bag.

In the result of taken measures the above-mentioned citizen was identified; he is a resident of Tavush province, born in 1962. It was found out that 58 year-old man beheaded his sister – 67 year-old resident of Yerevan in the latter’s house.

Through inspection of the scene 67 year-old woman’s beheaded body was found in the mentioned house.

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Point 5 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 (murder) of RA Criminal Code.

58 year-old resident of Tavush province was arrested.

Forensic medical and forensic genetic examinations were commissioned. Investigatory and other procedural actions are conducted to find out all circumstances of the case.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
