A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of RA Investigative Committee on using violence against Smbat Hakobyan.

The materials prepared in Central Police Station on the base of Smbat Hakobyan’s report today were received in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts which were received as a proceeding by the investigator.

Through examination of the materials it was found that on September 21, 2015 Smbat Hakobyan submitted a report in the Central Police Station informing that on the same day at about 15:00 five unknown persons argued with him in Abovyan Street during which they hit different parts of his body with hands, feet and other objects inflicting him bodily damages.

According to S. Hakobyan’s history of disease “close fracture of chest, fracture of the eighth rib, pneumothorax , subcutaneous emphysema on the right” was diagnosed.

Based on the abovementioned and considering that there is a legal reason to institute a criminal case in the mentioned materials the investigator made a decision to initiate a criminal case according to the Point 3 of the Part 2 of the Article 113 of RA Criminal Code. S. Hakobyan was found an injured party. The investigator visited the medical center to interrogate him as an injured party but the latter did not give any testimony because of poor health.

Necessary investigatory and procedural actions are conducted to provide the comprehensive and objective examination of the circumstances of the case, as well as to find the persons responsible.
