Arrested on suspicion of swindling EU grants in particularly large amount
In the framework of the criminal case investigated in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee three persons were arrested on suspicion of swindling EU grants in particularly large amount.
Through preliminary investigation it was found that Tigran Suqiasyan, Rubina Ter-Martirosyan, Gevorg Ghazaryan, reaching prior agreement on swindling somebody’s property by cheating, in 2012 and 2013 through making and using false documents developed a false project “Fundamental Rights and Freedoms the Guarantee of Future” in the name of non-governmental organization “Martuni Students’ Council” and under the pretext of carrying out activities in the framework of the project received and swindled grants in particularly large amount provided by European Union Delegation to Armenia.
On March 22, 2016 Tigran Suqiasyan, Rubina Ter-Martirosyan and Gevorg Ghazaryan were arrested on suspicion of carrying out the mentioned committals.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing, investigatory actions in great volume are conducted to provide the comprehensive, objective and complete investigation of circumstances of the case.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
