Charge Pressed against Sarigyugh Community Head for Squandering; Damage Caused Completely Restored
In the result of necessary investigatory and other procedural actions conducted in Tavush Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee circumstances of squandering committed by the head of Sarigyugh community were found out. The damage caused was completely restored.
On April 27, 2018 the criminal case initiated in the Police on abuses committed by the head of Sarigyugh community according to the Points 1 and 3 of the Part 2 of the Article 179 of RA Criminal Code was received in the proceeding of Tavush Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. An investigatory group was formed, necessary investigatory and other procedural actions were conducted to find out all circumstances of the case.
As a result, actual data were obtained on the allegation that from 2015 to 2016 the head of Sarigyugh community K. Ellaryan being an official and temporarily endowed with organizational-administrative functions, on the base of the RA Government’s decision N 1001-Ն of 31.08.2015 “On Process of Acquisition and Distribution of Autumn Wheat Seeds from Local Seed Producers and Russian Federation” received 15 tones 300 kg of autumn wheat first reproduction seeds worth 2.448.000 AMD to give the residents of Sarigyugh community. Pursuant to investigation data, the community head abusing official power squandered 1.500.000 AMD from sale of the mentioned seeds.
Through comprehensive investigation of the criminal case one more case of swindling committed in 2014 was disclosed; the amount of swindled money is 574.000 AMD.
On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against the head of Sarigyugh community according to the Points 1 and 3 of the Part 2 of the Article 179 of RA Criminal Code. During preliminary investigation the defendant has completely restored the damage caused to the state – 2.074.000 AMD in total.
Preliminary investigation of the criminal case is ongoing.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
