In the framework of the criminal case investigated in Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of circumstances of inflicting heavy bodily damage to the resident of Gyumri, convicted of open correctional prison of «Artik» penitentiary were found.

On July 20, 2017 a call was received from «Gyumri Medical Center» CJSC informing that a man of about 35-45 with numerous cut-pierced injuries, in critical conditions was taken to them.

In the result of necessary investigatory actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case initiated on the incident the injured was identified, circumstances of inflicting him bodily injuries, as well as the frame of those involved in the incident were found.

According to the data obtained through investigation on July 20, 2017 at about 03:25 an argument between the convicted of open correctional prison of «Artik» penitentiary and 27 year-old resident of Gyumri took place near the club in Khrimyan Hayrik Street of Gyumri town after which the latter with a sharp cutting item stabbed the convicted several times on different parts of his body inflicting heavy damage to his health. However, under unpredicted circumstances the crime was not completed; immediately after the incident the convicted of open correctional prison was taken to “Gyumri Medical Center” where his life was saved.
 

On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against the 27 year-old resident of Gyumri according to the Part 1 of the Article 34-104 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
