In the framework of the criminal case investigated in Goris Investigative Division of Syunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee charge was pressed for murder of 45 year-old resident of Vorotan community.

It was earlier informed that on April 1, 2018 45 year-old resident of Vorotan community died in medical center of bodily injuries incompatible with life he had sustained with a knife during an argument that took place at the area called “Markosyan’s spring” of Vorotan community of Syunik region.

In the result of necessary investigatory and operative-searching measures taken in the framework of the criminal case initiated according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code in Goris Investigative Division of the RA IC Syunik Regional Investigative Department circumstances significant for the case – the motive of the argument were found, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a resident of Syunik region, born in 1979.

Through preliminary investigation actual data were obtained on the allegation that on the day of the incident at about 18:00 – 18:30 the victim argued over domestic matters with his fellow villager at the administrative building of community council then arranged to meet at another place. At about 20:30 – 21:00, pursuant to the arrangement, they met at the area called “Markosyan’s spring” of Vorotan village where the argument turned into brawl during which 45 year-old man sustained bodily injury incompatible with life.  

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against the resident of Syunik region, born in 1979, according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code, detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing, measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of circumstances of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
